Do you believe that your life can change in an instant? If not, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Going in to training camp this past week, the last thing that I was expecting was God completely rocking my world. To be honest, I thought this would come later–I mean how can God not do crazy things out on the field, in foreign lands with people who desperately need a fresh touch from Him? Well despite my boxed-in perception of the World Race, training camp and myself, God showed up. And He showed up big time.

Basically, my experience at training camp can be summed up in one word: INDESCRIBABLE

Let me break it down a bit for you….

Indescribable #1

Walls breaking down that I didn’t even know were up. Weeping tears for an unknown pain, breaking chains from undefined bondage and receiving confirmation of who I am in an instant. Life changing freedom and strength!

Indescribable #2

A family created within a week. This was one of the parts I was most nervous about to be honest. Especially having just switched to this new squad, full of new people that had been getting to know each other for months. But, these people, these AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, BOLD and BRAVE people, are pieces of me. It’s as if my Spirit has known them my whole life but we’re only just now meeting. To say that I love them is an understatement!

Indescribable #3

Worshiping our Father freely, with all that we are in the midst of His creation. One of my favorite nights of this week was the squad camp-out we were blessed to share in the middle of the woods, under the stars. It was one of the most beautiful and meaningful experiences God has graced me with. After that night, something inside of me changed. I began to worship with complete freedom, abandonment and love for my Father, allowing the Spirit to come through me in whatever form He wanted-dance, song, clapping, tears, laughter- without worrying what others would think. And I found that this type of worship leads to unparalleled joy.

Coming to the Father, to my Jesus and to the Holy Spirit with open hands leads to change that you didn’t even know you needed and more than you expected. I experienced this in myself this week and was blessed to see it in my squadmates as well. The Spirit moved in that place as we surrendered everything that we are to the One that created us, coming humbly before Him with open hands and hearing our souls cry out a resounding “YES” to everything that He has in store for us. FREEDOM in ABANDONMENT!

There is so, so, so much more that I could share with you about this past week, but my words just would not do it justice! So let me sum up my indescribable experience like this: My life has been forever changed and I cannot describe the joy, the excitement, the boldness and the anticipation I have for the journey that God has in store for my squad and I this next year as I lay myself down before Him each day, expecting Him to show up in more amazing ways than my finite mind can even imagine!
