Ecclesiastes 1:11 – “No one remembers the former generations, and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them.”
Your life isn’t as important and special and vital to the long term of things as people tell you it is. When you die, the world will keep on turning. The circle of life will keep on going. Why fret about your purpose in the world? Just enjoy your labor and the fruit thereof, and love your God, and follow his lead. He has the best planned for Y.O.U. YOU! And the best for you looks different from the best for an orphan in Africa or a K-Pop star or a janitor in a middle school. Whatever your lot, accept it with joy, because through it, God will make your life SO good! And HE WILL give you the grace to accomplish the good he has set before you!
Right now my lot is loving Uganda and sharing the good news here. This is my lot right now. I am a missionary. And I should accept it with joy and be happy that I bear that name! In the future, God willing, my lot will be as a classical musician who performs eight days a week and practices 25 hours a day. That will be Megan Weber’s lot, and I should accept that beautiful season with joy when it comes, too! I will have spent years working hard cultivating a talent and passion from God- I should rejoice!
God is working every season together for the best life for YOU. Not for that girl. Not for that guy. Not for that couple. For you. And it is something unique and precious to God. The world doesn’t care! The world doesn’t need you! But God cares. And he delights in making your life something uniquely glorious.
