Hello friends and family! Here is a little update on part of what I’ve been doing here in Chile!

Tuesday through Friday I have been working at the near by special needs school. It was challenging on the first day with the language barrier the teacher in the first class of the day ( Cooking ) Doesn’t speak any English and as for me… Well Duolingo Said I was 4% fluent haha. I used google translate for the sentences I couldn’t understand, everything seemed to be going well until… My second class of the gym. He knew a little English we were still having a hard time communicating so I took out my trusty google translate, or at least I thought it was trust worthy.. I tried to use google translate with him and lets just say it did not translate like I intended haha, He replied “ Uh no more google translate.”

After my long first day the week went on and everyday it got easier. The teachers at this school have huge hearts! They take care of the kids so well. They’ve really invited us in to the school as well, every couple of days the teachers try to say something in English it’s the sweetest! The kids are just as amazing! They are so kind, sweet, sincere and loving! Its been fun to learn to serve with my actions and my very broken Spanish.  Down below are pictures of some of the students and little facts about them! Hope you enjoy!

This is Jaime ( Pronounced Hymie) He is one of the students in my class. He is my little translator! He knows maybe 100 random words in English, so when the teacher says something in Spanish that he knows in English he will shout it out no matter how random haha.

Also he listens to English music so all during recess ( and sometimes in class, whoops!) He sings to me and if I know the song he wants me to sing along! Its the sweetest thing!

This is Jose! He is SO kind hearted, always has a smile on his face and always willing to help!

This is Maria! She is a bundle of Joy, She gives the best hugs and she always comes running with her arms wide open like she hasn’t seen you in years ( even if its only been 5 minutes! )

These little cuties aren’t in my class but we play together at recess! They love to take silly pictures and swing! My kind of pals! 🙂

These kids aren’t from the school I work at. They came to house of hope to help out for a day, We were on the cooking team together and although we didn’t speak the same language we put on some music and did zumba while we cooked the afternoon away! They were all so sweet, we shared lots of laughs and smiles instead of words! 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this little photo tour of my time working with the schools.

As always please keep my team and myself in your prayers! *Fundraising update* I am $1,800 away from meeting my next fundraising goal which is due on November 30th! Please donate if you can! Any amount helps!

Love and blessings :)Megan(:
