Hello everyone!
I am writing on this blog from America for THE LAST TIME until around Thanksgiving! I cannot believe that it is here! I have been planning/prepping for The World Race since March! It is thanks to ALL OF YOU; my prayer warriors, financial supporters, and followers that this was possible! God encouraged you to help me in any way possible! You provided me my finances back in SEPTEMBER so I could focus on gathering supplies, TC, finishing up my job, and just focusing on myself, friends, and family these last few months. For that, I am eternally grateful! I cannot imagine still trying to be fundraising these past few months AND while we are away. Unfortunately, my team still has some fundraising to do, so please be praying for them!
Anyway, I am sitting here, trying not to stress about packing (I am really dreading it) and thinking about everything that I still need to do in these last 3 days before my family drives me to launch in Atlanta on Saturday! My stuff is in a room and I slowly keep adding to it. Tomorrow will be my first attempt at packing, please pray for me! I am meeting with my mentor Georgeanne tonight for the last time and saying goodbye to her. We have been doing a devotional book together that I was required to do called, “The Art of Listening Prayer,” by Seth Barnes. It has been an interesting up and down journey through 26 days! I am excited to do in on the Race and see how much my listening to God improves and what He teaches me! In one of our meetings, Georgeanne and I were discussing songs that went along with our devotional book. I played her a song called, “You Make Me Brave,” and she said it should be my theme song, hence the title of this blog! You can listen to it at the bottom of the blog! She has been such a blessing, I am dreading saying goodbye to her. Saying goodbye to my church family on Sunday was hard! Friday I say goodbye to my youth group kids, who are going to a youth rally retreat this weekend (it’s the first rally I’m missing in like 5 years so I’m a little bummed) and saying goodbye to my work best friends. I am already heartbroken over it. I will need tissues for DAYS on Friday haha!
I have exciting news about my FIRST PLACEMENT IN INDIA!!! My team, It Is Goode, will be in Ongole, India working with a Christian ministry working with children. We are primarily responsible for taking photographs, videos, and conducting interviews! I am extremely excited for this placement and all that these beautiful people of India will teach me! It will be a stretching experience for sure! My team has already planned to workout every morning, so I hope we get into really good shape to serve our Lord and Savior with all we have (and to not gain weight would be nice too)! Please pray for Ongole, India, our placement and leadership within the placement, my team, and the children we will be surrounded by! It is an exciting time for sure! I am ready to love on the country of India whole-heartedly!
The last few weeks have continued to be an emotional roller coaster for myself personally, please pray that I continue to be excited and not sad/upset. Leaving my family is going to be awful; however, we know that it is what God is calling me to do! Please keep them in your prayers too! My parents will be experiencing an “empty nest” for the first time ever and that will be an adjustment as well!
Y’all are seriously the best and I love each and every one of you! God Bless!
~Meg
