In the movie, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” the issue is that “Nice Greek girls are supposed to do three things in life: marry Greek boys, make Greek babies, and feed everyone… until the day we die.”

I feel that ministry this month may help me become a great wife.

1) Cooking: I am learning how to cook alongside of some wonderful Bulgarian women who can cook up some amazing meals. I’m learning that I chop cabbage too slow (OCD/perfectionist gets me down again…). I’m also learning that improvising with random ingredients can taste really good. Also, meat (like meatloaf) can be eaten at breakfast if you spread it on toast and bake it, who knew? I am excited to go home and just experiment with different spices and vegetables (yes, you read that right, I eat vegetables now!) My list of recipes just might expand from just “3 Cheese Italian Chicken (shoutout to Camp Swatara for teaching me to make the most delicious meal of all time!) My dream of being a chef back when I was a young child; wearing a pull-up/underwear on my head as a hat, and being the star of, “Megan’s Cooking Show,” may come true just yet!

2) Cleaning: I have never swept and mopped floors, made more beds, and washed/dried more dishes than I have in my life than I have over the last week and a half. I truly am learning the ropes of this “women’s work,” thing lol! I may be able to be wife material after all lol!

3) Continuing to lean on my wonderful community of women all around me! My team, Team Warriors, and the ladies we work with are all incredible women who love God with their whole beings. They are some of the most selfless, servant-hearted people I have ever met. There isn’t a time where a job needs to be done and no less than 3 people volunteer to do that job! We truly come together and work as a unit! The importance of a women’s community is something every woman needs, wherever they are! Women are stong and super supportive with whatever is happening in life! I love the women in my life here in Bulgaria!

4) Yard work: not necessarily needed to be a wife; however, helpful regardless. I may not have a green thumb, but I can certainly dig and uproot weeds! Give me a shovel, pick, or any tool and back up because I’m about to go to town and “do work,” on those weeds!

(This ground was filled with grassy/root stuff covering the concrete before we cleared it out. We didn’t even know there was soil underneath it all!)

Bring on my future hubby God, Bulgaria has made me ready for him!
