Hello brothers and sisters,
I hope this blog is reaching you in a good place! I have been home from TC (training camp) for almost a week and am still trying to process everything that happened. Just to give you a head’s up, there will probably be at least 3 other blogs documenting my squad, training camp, and my team! This blog is a very awesome experience I had before even arriving at TC. God was moving already! Below is what I wrote in my journal! Hope you enjoy it!
“I don’t know what everyone does on planes. Personally, I switch off between listening to music, reading, and occasionally talking to the person next to me. 99% of the time I am listening to music.
My flight to TC was on Tuesday (10/18) at 12:45pm because I was spending the night with a dear friend outside of Atlanta before TC was to start. I picked an aisle seat, close to the back of the plane. There were 2 other woman in my row. I figured I would wait until we were in the air, put on my music, and go from there. God totally had other plans for me.
Right before take-off, the woman next to me made a comment about myself also being “prepared” with a sweatshirt in case the plane got cold. I said, ‘yeah you just never know what it’s going to be like on a plane.’ From there we began talking about ourselves, our families, and God. Yes, God. I had unknowingly picked a seat next to a wonderful Christian woman named Nikki. We talked the entire plane ride. I was explaining my upcoming WR trip and she had said that she was in the medical field and had gone on several mission trips herself!
It was beautiful. It was the church. It really just proves you really can encounter God anywhere. We both needed the encouragement/listening ears of each other. ‘My new mom Nikki,’ made sure we got to baggage claim, got our luggage, and she even walked me to the train station inside the airport! She and I exchanged numbers because she said she would be my ‘Georgia mom!’ If I ran into any issues, I could call her. We even found out that she had worked in the Pediatrician’s office that my brother and I had gone to so we had mutual acquaintances!
It was just an incredible way to start my training camp experience, without even making it to TC yet!
God is amazing and I’m so glad He provided me with a ‘Georgia mom!'”
Please keep my squad in your prayers, Satan is already starting to attack one by one because of how amazing TC was! If you want to donate financially, please check out some of my squad-mates who still need to raise money in order to launch with us in January to India! In one of my upcoming posts, I will let you know who needs financial help and put their links on here! Thank you and God Bless you all!!
