Hello everyone!

So this blog is a tad bit overdue; however, I still have a blog or 2 to write about India, so there’s that haha!

I just wanted to recap my last week and a half in Nepal that were some of my favorite memories on the Race to date!

There were 4 teams that went to “the mountains.” We bussed long, windy, narrow roads overlooking steep cliffs off of the sides of mountains. It reminded me so much of Peru. I also couldn’t help at my squadmates who thought we were going to drive right off of the edge.

Our first destination, was one of our translator’s (D) childhood homes, with his parents. They graciously hosted just under 30 of us and cooked for us. His Ah-ma and Boo-ah (mom and dad) were literally the cutest ever. They loved being just around us, even with limited language exchanged back and fourth, we shared many smiles, laughter, and hugs. We were able to visit some church meeting places, climb up a mountain and explore a cave, cross a river to church (some fell in the river…), and just get to pray over D’s hometown.

We also ventured to some other towns where we prayed and sang. We got to meet people D knew. His love for God and for his country is truly inspiring!

We ended our last few days in a small village (where my 2 little Nepali brothers were). It was such a great way to end our time in Nepal. We bonded so much as a half squad and really just enjoyed being with D and learning from him! I miss those nights of community meals, cooler temperatures, singing, playing games, and I even miss the random animals carrying on conversations loudly throughout the night while we all were trying to sleep!

Nepal, you will always hold a small piece of my heart!
