One of the hardest things about being on the Race is the celebrations you miss while being halfway around the world. I have missed babies being born, friend’s weddings, birthdays, holidays, graduations, and just other important “life” events. It is hard! It is a sacrifice, but an important one.
Today is Mother’s Day, a day to honor those who we call “mom!” Whether they are our birthmother or not, we celebrate the important women in our lives. I was given the best mother in the entire world! She is one of my best friends, my confidant, the mother I want to be if the Lord desires me to be one! She is the prettiest, most elegant and graceful woman I know (with the exception of her mother, my mom-mom). In 2005 I gained another “mother,” my mom-mom who moved in with us after we lost my grandfather to a heart-attack. My mom-mom is another woman who I consider great and I am so lucky I get to call her mine! She is full of love and pride over her children and grandchildren! She is a great cook and all around wonderful woman! I also aspire to be like her when I become a mother (God-willing.)
Mommy and mom-mom, there are not enough words to describe how much I love you both! You both have helped mold me into the woman I am today and am so thankful that God gave me the both of you!

WISHING all of my “moms’ out there a very blessed Mother’s Day! Love you all!
Remember when I played guitar and sang this to y’all a few years ago and Jim played his sax? Here’s the best version! haha
