Hello everyone! Sending you early morning greetings from (the future technically) from Nepal (it is 7:09am Thursday morning, 2/23!) I hope everyone is doing well!
I have a running list of about 8 different blogs that I want to write/need to write so I am going to try to crank out as many as possible before I disappear off of the grid next week for about 8 days when we travel to villages to help there!
A cool story this morning though (as I was coming to the only cafe in town open at 7am), I saw a teenaged boy with a “Bucks County Technical High School” sweatshirt on. I literally did a double take because, seriously, what are the chances that people from where I live are here in THE SAME CITY as me, here in Nepal for a mission trip?! I met people from Bucks County Community Church! I had a feeling in a strange way, God was sending me greetings from home, even though I have never met these people, they are ALL my brother’s in Christ! I told them so send my love back with them to Bucks County when they leave!
Anyway, I just wanted to tell you all (I think I have shared this with some of you) about the vision I believe God has put on my heart for Nepal (and possibly the rest of the race!) EVERY SINGLE WOMAN in this world, needs to read the book “Captivating,” by John and Stasi Eldredge! (Side note, MEN should read, “Wild At Heart,” by John Eldredge). It seriously is a game changer! I have read it multiple times and decided it would be a great book to bring on the race and pass along to my team and then squad! I read it while I was in India and there were things in it that I had never picked up on before! It gave me different perspective on things too, that I felt should not be contained just for the people who have read it, but for EVERY GIRL and WOMAN to know and love!
Essentially, God is Captivated by EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU! He loves you MORE THAN YOU CAN EVEN COMPREHEND! He sacrificed HIS ONLY SON for you SO YOU ARE WORTHY OF HIS LOVE and ARE GOOD ENOUGH TO BE CARED FOR and CHERISHED! There is no longer room for fear of rejection or that you are unlovable BECAUSE the Creator of the Universe is MADLY in love with you! You were made in HIS image! If He loves you this much, then you must ALSO love yourself and KNOW you are truly, madly, deeply loved!
All of that being said, I felt God put it on my heart that I need to spread that message to all of the women and girls I come across here in Nepal. (Last night I realized it us to lift my squad up and remind them of that as well, but that will come later in another blog!) Tell them that THEY ARE CAPTIVATING and are worth it! I have taken that to heart; I have even had a teammate write the word, “Captivating,” on my arm in Sharpie to further remind myself and others that the Lord of All loves us.
The word Captivating, is defined as “capable of attracting and holding interest; charming.” I pray that over every single woman and girl that reads my blog and then that THEY TOO, share that message with the rest of the world.
God is Captivated by you, you are loved, you are important, you are enough, you are worthy!
