Hello everyone,
This blog was one I was not expecting to write, but here we are.
I was talking to some people on my team, telling them how much I just want more alone time/God time, and they agreed. Our assignment here in India has not always been the easiest when it comes to finding personal time/God time. Anyway, God was listening to my request and answered it in a very unexpected way.
On January 26, around 3:30am/3:45am I was woken out of a deep sleep with a horrible pain in my back and stomach. I went to the bathroom, didn’t help, just felt worse, so then decided to wake up my team leader (who happens to be a nurse, lucky us!) I explained to her the problem and I literally was in excruciating pain, the worst I have ever felt in my life. She prayed over it, so did another team member, then another one was holding my hand. One of our squad leaders tried to do a deliverance just over the pain, she thought something may be attacking me, and that did not work. My team thought it would be best to wait a few hours before taking me to the hospital, just in case if some sleep would get rid of it and also a more convenient time for me to be able to get taken to the hospital. I could not sleep/get comfortable. I threw up 3 separate times, my stomach was having these weird convulsions, and I kept dry heaving because there was nothing left in me to throw up.
Around 10:45am, my transportation had arrived, our translator and my team mate Rachel came with me. I could not stand up straight or sit up straight, I was in agony. Also, the pain rose a little up my back in the middle of the night. I couple of my team mates thought it might be a kidney stone.
I was admitted into the hospital, given an IV (with a shot of something in it), a pain killer shot, and told to rest. I would be getting a “scan” (aka ultrasound later). After hours and hours (man I was finally feeling better thanks to that shot), I got to do my ultrasound.
Guess who got their first kidney stone in India? This girl! The doctor said it was pretty small and would pass within the next day or 2.
Long story short, I have missed ministry the last 2 days and will miss tomorrow too. The rest of our team comes back tomorrow and then we all head out for our last 3 days of our assignment! India is coming to a close in about a week and a half, I can’t believe how fast time is flying!
Love you all, thanks for the prayers!
