Hey friends,
In this blog post you guys are gonna get to know all about me! My name is Megan Pringle and I am 20 years old. I was born and raised in suburban Atlanta and I have 2 younger sisters. I am currently attending Kennesaw State University and I am majoring in Nursing with a minor in psychology. I just got accepted to Kennesaw’s nursing program, and I will start my courses in January 2020 to become a Registered Nurse. I am pursuing nursing in hopes of becoming a Pediatric Oncology Nurse Practitioner. On top of school, I am also working at an assisted living facility as a CNA, which I really enjoy.
Some fun facts about me are that I love reading, running, visiting big cities, animals, and iced coffee. I have a huge passion for traveling and would love to travel the world one day. I also like to meet new people and help out in the community, especially with children. All of these factors are primarily why I felt called to serve in the Philippines in 2020-minus the animals and iced coffee.
At the beginning of every year, I like to choose a word that will describe my year. To do so, I pray about it and think about the upcoming year. For 2019, the word that was on my heart time and time again was “Unexpected”. I had been hoping for a more prominent word like “Perseverance” or “Gratitude” , but as always God definitely showed me how unexpected the year 2019 would be for me.
In January of this year, I became septic from a post-surgical complication and would have lost my life if I wouldn’t have gone to the hospital exactly when I did. That was unexpected. Then I got my CNA license and began working at an Assisted Living Facility caring for Older People. That was unexpected. Then I got to travel out of the country with my family for an unbelievably fun trip. That was unexpected. Then I met so many friends, in and out of faith, who have made me a better person. That was unexpected, especially since I was having a hard time making friends since coming to college. Then I felt called serve outside the country, applied to the world race, and got accepted. That was unexpected. Then I got accepted into Nursing school. That was unexpected. As you can see, God really used that word during this year and though some instances were not what I wanted to happen, God’s provision does not always mean life will be easy; however, it was definitely worth it.
For the year 2020, my word is intentional. This is going to be a big year for me with lots of changes but I am hoping to become more intentional in my job, at school, with my friends and family, and with this mission trip. I am very excited for what God has in store for this year.
Thanks for tagging along! 🙂
