What’s up guys? I asked people on my social media to send me some questions that they had about the Race, life, and everything else, and I’m finally getting around to answering those questions. So sorry for the wait, South America is keeping me on my toes!

So let’s get to it!

  1. Has God tugged on your heart to a particular mission field? A) Yes!! I was able to be involved with youth and women’s ministry on the Race and I loved it! That’s something I want to be pursuing when I get back home and for the rest of my life!

  2. What has been your favorite country so far and why? A) This is a hard question, because I can’t pick just one! Bulgaria, because I grew so close to God there. I would wake up early and go down to the kitchen, make myself a cup of coffee and just sit with Jesus. Our morning coffee dates are my favorite part of my day. We also met amazing people who came through the conference center, and our hosts loved us as their own daughters. We also lived in the cold mountains of 600 people, it was amazing. Vietnam, I had so much freedom and independence there. If I wanted to go across town, I could just grab a Grab(SE Asia form of Uber, but better) and hop on a motorbike and go. Or another teammate and I had ministry separate from the rest of the team, so it was cheaper for us to get 2 GrabBikes and get there faster. So much freedom! Myanmar, the Burmese people are the most amazing people you will ever meet. I guarantee it. From the hotel staff, the brothers and sisters in our church, even the cab drivers. They are so loving, and giving, and so kind. They have a deep hunger for God that I hadn’t seen anywhere else in the world yet. They loved Him that challenged me to love Him more and raise my kids in that adoration. They are so selfless too. One morning with the kids, one of the dad’s over the children’s home went out and got us coffee. Without even asking, they just wanted to bless us. Colombia, the community we were surrounded with was my favorite part of the month. They welcomed us in with loving arms and made us feel a part of their family. They invited us to their homes, they wanted to hear our stories, and I miss them so so much!

  3. Have you thought to take another adventure like this? Maybe not as long? A) I for sure want to keep doing missions, and time is no bother to me. Whatever God has, I’m okay with. I do want to stay in one place though. Moving around each month is exhausting.

  4. How do you see the Lord guiding you for your future? A) He is teaching me how to live in FULL surrender, which is extremely difficult. He’s also growing me in living in community, loving unconditionally, being bold, confident, and showing me all the ways I can serve Him. He’s always been faithful and has never given me a reason to doubt.

  5. Hi! Come work with me when you get back!! A) I have no idea what I’m doing with my life when I come home, so we’ll see! I miss you!

  6. What has been your favorite verses and why? A) Hosea 6:8 “He will come to us like rain.” Is one of my favorites. God will come and His spirit will nourish our dry and thirsty souls. With His Spirit reigning on us will will produce life.

  7. What is the weirdest thing you ate, and liked it? A) I try to stay away from weird foods, I’m just not that adventurous. I’m nervous when it comes to unusual ingredients. I stayed away from the blood sausage, but I did try some cow leg stew. It tasted like you straight up licked a barn stall door. No bueno.

  8. What country has the best food? A) I’m gonna go with the whole continent of South America. It’s freaking amazing and I can’t wait to go home and try my hand at their recipes!

  9. What do you wish you hadn’t packed? A) SO MUCH. Like my tent. I only used it for a weekend in Greece and even then, I shared with a teammate. The rest of the world sells everything, toothpaste, soap, good shampoo, snacks, coffee, and literally whatever you need.

  10. What relationship has been the most impactful? A) God, of course. But our leadership team has been so helpful for this season in my life. They love and care so well, they’re always a message away, and they let us talk and talk. They give answers that encourage us in our walk with God, and even when they don’t have the answer to a problem, they pray with us and keep pointing us back to the Lord. The Race wouldn’t be as amazing without them!

  11. Is the world bigger or smaller to you now? A) Kind of both. I haven’t even seen as much as I want to, but knowing what I know now, I feel like accomplishing that task is so much easier in my mind.

  12. How did you get the nickname, “Meggo?” A) Well you see, there’s this girl on our squad who shares so much in common with me, she also shares my name. So when we’re all together it gets confusing. “Meggo” stands for Meg Oliver. Meg-O. 🙂

Thanks so much for sending in your amazing questions. I love answering them. If you have any more, please send them my way!
