I really love cooking, most anything at any time. I can think of something I saw online and pull it out of my head and put it on a plate. I get over excited when people try my food. 9 times out of 10 it is successful. Last month I got voted most likely to be the next Paula Deen and I wear that as a badge of honor. All credit goes to my momma for making me help out in the kitchen my whole life.

Anyways, this month we have spent so much time in the kitchen as part of our “Housewife Training.” Let me tell you, these Bulgarian women can cook! God bless Pinterest so that I can bring these recipes home and share them with you.

Just like how I did with Ukraine, I hope to pick up recipes of the local food so you can taste the culture with me!

Here are links to my Bulgarian favorites:

https://pin.it/cwxu4duy4wlejb – Bulgarian donuts, they remind me most of Indian fry bread, but with some jelly on top it’s my favorite breakfast here.

https://pin.it/wllcrlmvavzknd – My team and I call this sausage toast. So good, it smells like pizza. Also a breakfast favorite.

https://pin.it/z74wkzpjd3hozi – These stuffed chilis make me feel like I should be eating them in South America. Fun fact: I LOVE the smell of roasted peppers.

https://pin.it/y5ofbqat6wjcor – Lentil soup, for the cold days.

https://pin.it/q7ykqgbbjydmva – One day I was craving the pinto beans my mom makes and guess what, we had beans for dinner. :]

https://pin.it/vtgaokcrbdpdft – Mussaka. Sounds like you’re saying “music” in Spanish. I’ve seen this dish on magnets in souvenir shops around.

https://pin.it/wh5hqhag5r4yrk – And last but not least, Bonitsa. A classic breakfast dish that’s way simple. I’ve also seen this on a magnet.

Y’all have a blessed day trying out these new foods, and I hope to see you again here. [End deep southern drawl.]
