Hello Everyone!

I have been working in my free time to create my own website to continue documenting this wonderful adventure that Jesus has me on!

It is up and running and I want to invite you all to visit! If you would like regular blog updates through e-mail, like you received during the World Race, there is a place to subscribe at the bottom of each page 🙂

Also, if you would like to financially support my new mission with the global non-profit International Council of Friends, click the button “Partner” at the top right hand corner of my website’s homepage. I am fundraising my yearly salary so any contribution would be much appreciated!

Below is one of my blogs I recently posted on this new site that gives the background story to the name of my website:

“Hi everyone!

Welcome to my new site:)

It has been a little over three months since returning home from the World Race, and I can assure you it has been a whirlwind! Catching up with friends and family has been a gift, starting a new job that I love has been exciting, and learning the balance of life on the world race and life at home has been a good challenge.

Some may ask, “why Jesus and Chocolate?” I wanted to share with you an excerpt from a blog I wrote in Kosovo last year that has laid a good foundation for what this site is all about. It was one of the first days of ministry on the race and we were serving at a community center for youth in the city. I was with my teammate Kristie and Squad leader Lindsey.

“All three of us were asked to share our testimonies, which I was not prepared for. But as Lindsey said, it is our story, what preparation do we need? As I was sitting there listening to the beautiful testimonies of Kristie and Lindsey, I was chatting with Jesus about what we should talk about with this group. For some reason, all I could think about was chocolate, no joke! For those of you who know me, you probably know I have a slight obsession with chocolate, especially dark Dove chocolate…YUM. Therefore, when my turn came to share I stood up and said, “I am so excited to share with you all about my two favorite things: Chocolate, and my relationship with Jesus! Whenever I hear, or see someone with chocolate, I want it. When I do not have chocolate I long for it. And when I have it, I cannot get enough of it.” This is like my relationship with Jesus. I LOVE HIM. I am literally tearing up as I write this blog. He is so good to me. He is my comforter, provider, and friend. When I see others embracing their relationship with Jesus, I am reminded that I have access to Him always. When I get distracted and do not have my alone time with Him, I long for it. And when I am alone and deep in His presence, I cannot get enough of Him.”

Upon reading this again since coming home, I can remember the passion I had while sharing this with the youth that day. I was just starting to unravel a new level in my relationship with Jesus and I wanted everyone to experience the goodness of being His friend. I still do!

Now, here I am a year later, and I want to begin unraveling the next level in my relationship with Jesus. I am not sure what that looks like or where it will take me, but I do know the answers come in spending time with Him. I want this site to be a place to share my stories about my time with Jesus. What he is teaching me, how I am hearing from him and the adventures he is taking me on both locally and around the world.”

Thanks again for following my journey around the world last year and for all your prayers and support!

Blessings to you and your families in this wonderful Christmas season!
