9/4

First I would like to thank everyone who is reading this post for supporting me in whatever way you did/are. It means the world to me to know that I am in your prayers back home while I’m on my biggest venture yet and also know your support is enabling God’s will in the international mission field.

Some of you would like to know what exactly I’m doing here in Quito, Ecuador? Great question; here are the three ministries I have the potential of working at. 1. Pan De Vida (bread of life), this ministry based out of Ecuador has six different programs including children’s program, medical needs, micro business classes, feeding the hungry, emergency relief, and refuge housing. 2. An orphanage of sorts from what I understand? In Latin America we rarely get all the information and run on what we call “ish” time, meaning that if you set a time to arrive somewhere say 5 o’clock, you can arrive anywhere within plus or minus 20 minutes or more and be on time. Very different than America: I know. 3. Working with rescued women from sex trafficking. This one is heavy but I want to put myself up to the challenge and allow the Spirit to use me and be a comfort to those women in anyway I can. Whether that be ministering to them directly or improving their living conditions to show them they are worth more than they were treated like.

Those are the three ministries my team has been told about so far. But just because those are the “organized” mission fields we have been appointed to that doesn’t mean that is my only mission field. As we learned about at training camp, the mission field is everywhere you step. This is a simple concept that I have heard many times in my life but it finally resonated with me. This mission field is the entirety of my life. So I would like to leave you with this request/ challenge, make your life the mission field and allow Christ to shine through you and learn to hear His voice whether that be in church or at the grocery store. You never know when God will call you to peruse His greater plans.
