Hi there! My name is Megan, I’m 27 years old and live in Phoenix, AZ. Welcome to my World Race blog! Here’s a little bit about me:

I’m wildly in love with my Savior. I just can’t get enough of Him these days. Jesus is the air I breathe, my sustainer, my life. He is who I ride into battle with. He is the romancer of my heart. Through Him springs a passion for people – their stories and what makes them tick.

If I had to narrow down my life’s desire to one thing for who “Megan Bassett” would become, it would be this: that I would learn to live, breathe, and walk as Jesus did. I want to be contagious with the likeness of Jesus.

I am an adventurer at heart and love to ponder the deeper aspects of life while discovering God’s beauty in this world. Activities that bring my heart alive include, but are not limited to: pursuing the hearts of those around me, living in authentic community, hiking, traveling, camping, photography, writing, creating, music, and training/rehabilitating animals (currently, I work with dogs).

I want to live with an open-book policy, seeking to be real and genuine in the relationships in my life. As scary as it can be, I yearn to get down to the nitty-gritty – the raw relentless beauty of our brokenness amid His grace.

One of my lifelong passions has always been for missions, engaging people and culture outside of one’s own personal bubble. I’m excited to have the opportunity to walk out this life for 11 months in 11 different countries starting October 2019. I offer you a front-row seat as God breaks me, molds me, and holds me throughout my upcoming months of preparation, as well as my time on the Race.

I invite YOU to come alongside me, first and foremost, as a prayer-warrior on this journey. There is no way I can do this on my own. Prayer is going to be crucial in keeping Truth at the center of this season, and the lies and destruction of the devil at bay.

Secondly, anyone who is willing and able to support me financially, I ask that you give as you feel led. Where the Lord calls, He provides. I’m trusting this to be true, and I can’t get there on my own.

Life would be an awfully lonely journey without friends by your side!

Until next time,

-Megan
