So the other day we got told that we get to go to the zoo!! Every Thursday we will be taking about 4 hours out of the day to go and serve at the North Georgia zoo!! This zoo is Christian based. Their mission and purpose is to first care for the animals, guests, staff/volunteers and interns, then they connect the people to animals, connect people to God’s creation, and to connect people to each other. They also conserve by educating their guests about the animals, holding different activities, and projects.
We will get to have hands-on encounters with some of the animals by feeding and playing with them. We will also do manual labor around the park, hear testimonies of the owners and other workers at the zoo, and interact with the guests. We may do some landscaping, cleaning the animal enclosures, helping connect people to the animals and to God.
