I have been  working with Samaritans Purse for the past two weeks!!  I have really enjoyed it but it is really hard work.  I have been so exhausted in every way.  The Lord really taught me how to rely on Him and give everything to Him.  Many times I have caught myself thinking about how tired I was and how much I didn’t want to rake leaves for.the fifth day in a row.  Then I remind myself that I am not doing this for myself not to prove myself or anything.  I am doing this for God and to minister to the homeowners and change their life and give them peace.  It is crazy to see how the mood of the homeowners change from the time we show up until the time we leave.  They are discouraged at all the damage that was done to their house and yard.  They think there is no hope.  By the time we leave they are so happy and grateful for all we have done and we leave them with a smile on their face and the peace of Christ in their heart, oftentimes they are crying as well.  Not only are they touched by all the work we do but also they have said that they enjoy seeing all of the young faces be willing to do all of this.  Wether that be us taking time to talk to them and minister to them, us working hard on their house, or just us laughing and having fun during our lunch break reminding them of when their own children were young laughing with friends.

Every time when we finish a house and before we leave we will pray out with the homeowner and give them a new Billy Graham bible signed by each one of us that have ministered to them.  Some of the homeowners want to cherish that bible so it never gets ruined so that they can remember this time forever and how the Lord blessed them with His love.

Some of the things that we have been doing so far have been ministering with homeowners, raking leaves, cutting up fallen trees and limbs, tearing down an old shed, tarping roofs, tearing out moldy and waterlogged ceilings and walls, loving on each other and the homeowners, showing them who Jesus is and sharing what He is doing in our lives and will do in theirs.

Thank you to all the leaders and everyone that came alongside us to help.  Pouring out their wisdom and support to us.  Being patient with us and showing us new things.  You all showed us God’s love so well.  We appreciate all you did and all the wisdom that you have given us.  You touched all of us so much and we could tell that you were also touched by us.

Please continue to be praying for me and the rest of my squad as we go back to campus then home and overseas in January.  That the Lord would continue to use and move each and everyone of us.  That He would bring people along our path to lead back towards Him in our own hometown, in Gainesville, and in other countries.

God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And He said, “Say this to the people of Israel: “I am has sent me to you.” – Exodus 3:14
