Before I get into the different things I learned, let me update you on a few things.  I am currently home for Christmas!!  I will return to Gainesville, Georgia on January third for about a week.  Then from there we will be launching to… ECUADOR!!! >> I am SOOO EXCITED to start serving the Lord overseas!!  As of now this is the only country that we know we will be going to.  This was not one of the countries in my original race but we will be doing similar things.  You can check out a little of what we will be doing here. I can’t believe that I was in Georgia for three months.  I am currently home and ready to go overseas in January.  So much has happened.  Here are a few things that have impacted me so far.

  1. I have realized that I really don’t need very much to live and get through.

  • I have been living in a tent out of a backpack and I have been loving it.

  1. I am beyond thankful and blessed for the way I was raised. Thanks Momma and Dad!

  2. Community is important!!

  • Galatians 6:2 says “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”  Romans 12:5 says “so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” It is important to surround yourself with those that love you continually and those who push you to be a better person.

  1. You have to deny yourself and surrender everything to the Lord every single day.

  • Live your life every day for Christ not for yourself or for those around you.  Luke 9:23 says “Then He said to all of them, “Whoever wants to follow me must pick up their cross every day and follow me.” God deserves our everything, our full commitment.

  1. Growth is not linear!!

  • You are always going to have highs and lows.  All that matters is that you are still moving forward.  We are all still human and we are still going to fail and make mistakes.  And choose joy through those struggles.  Remember that God is stretching you and making you grow into something better.  Rejoice at the end and share your accomplishments with others.

  1. Sabbath is soo important!

  • Time with the Lord is very important.  You cannot pour out what you don’t have.  You must constantly be connected to God and He will fill you up time and time again when you are worn out.  You must fill yourself up with the truth that Christ tells us then you will be able to pour that out to others.

God Bless,
