These past 3 months the Lord has really been showing me that Kingdom isn’t always what we expect it to look like.
It doesn’t always look like a building or “perfect” people.
I think I always knew that but on the race it has become even more real. We move every month to a different home and sometimes don’t do ‘church’ in a building but instead at home with just our team or with our hosts.
The Kingdom is everywhere. We can find Kingdom in everything.
In Colombia we saw Kingdom when we fought by the Spirit to cast out demons.
Matthew 12:28 “But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.”
We also saw Kingdom in a mother figure who cooks for us every day with complete joy.
Romans 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
In Ecuador we saw Kingdom in the dirty hands of workers building a wall.
Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”
We saw Kingdom in the way we united as a team and continued to choose unity daily.
In Peru we saw it in a little boy’s smile who has fetal alcohol syndrome.
We saw it in the smiles of the children at the orphanage every day.
Matthew 18:1-5 “At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, ‘Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’ And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, and said, ‘Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me.’”
In the way we became family with our hosts, Tim and Holly and their kids.
And throughout all these times, we saw Kingdom in the tears we have cried as teammates and in the conversations we have despite the underlying fear of rejection.
There is no limit and no boundary to the Kingdom of God and I’m so excited to just continue seeing Kingdom everyday on the race and after.
