On Monday this past week, my brother got married. What a joy it was to be a part of this beautiful, God-fearing wedding. I am so proud to call Michael my brother and am honored that God gave me a brotter who is such a great example to my sisters and me. Michael isn’t perfect, just like everyone else—just like me. For the past year and a half, I’ve had the opportunity of living with him in Houston. I think during the time living with him, I took him for granted. I didn’t spend as much time with him as I could have and I opted for a much needed nap over spending some time with him. But he never failed to keep loving me and including me in the things he did, including getting to know Chic, his wife. I couldn’t have asked for a better woman to be the helpmate for my only brother and what an honor it has been for me to see their relationship, the good times and tough times, blossom into what it has become first-hand. We had our differences but he never failed to be the amazing brother and friend he’s always been to me. Now, he is married to a woman who values relationships as much as he does, loves the Lord more than anything and lives to honor and glorify God. I can’t wait to see how God uses them for the Kingdom together.
Whenever I think of the wedding on Monday, I can’t help but smile and start crying. I was given the amazing opportunity to stand with Michael and Chic as they made their vows and be a part of their special day. As I walked down the isle toward Michael, he gave me a wink and I winked back. In that momeJr I knew my brothers love and care for me despite any differences we’ve ever had. We’re siblings, we’re friends and we love each other beyond compare. What a blessing it is to have siblings who are also best friends…it’s a priceless gift!
Congratulations to the newly weds and I ask that you keep them in your prayers as they begin their new life together. That God would stay the center of their relationship and they would love, honor and cherish one another continually.
