This woman.

She is a servant.

She is a mother.

She is beautiful.

She has a heart of gold.

She is sacrificial.

She is lovely.

She is a helper to her husband.

She loves well.

Mama Cristina is one of the most wonderful ladies I have ever met. The relationship I have been able to build with her has been so sweet and such a blessing. I thank God every day for His graciousness in allowing me the opportunity to learn Spanish four years ago because through the opportunities I had in the past, I have been able to cultivate a friendship with this wonderful woman. She treats me as a daughter and loves all of us well. We are her extra children and we didn’t want to leave…and she didn’t want us to either.

I have learned in the past few weeks that ministry doesn’t always look how we necessarily think it should. Sometimes it’s going to be staying at home and ministering to our hosts. In the moments we felt we should be out doing something, I realized that was the moment we should all the more spend time with our host and pour into their lives. They, unlike us, are staying there. They are ministering to and pouring into the people in this place daily even as we move on to another place. I believe part of the reason we go to our ministry hosts is to pour into them  to help enable them to make Kingdom differences…and let me tell you, Mama Cristina and Pastor Willy are making Kingdom differences in the outskirts of Medellín.

Mama C serves her husband well. She leads the church well and loves the people of Ministerio Vida Nueva amazingly! She has been such a wonderful example to myself and my teammates the past 4 weeks and we have been beyond blessed to serve and be served by her.

I love this woman, I miss her already and I pray the Lord sends me back to Colombia to know this woman and her family more.
