Last night as I was talking to my friend Leanna, she said something really profound.

I was telling her how I can’t really grasp the concept of time on the race. We’ve already been through 6 months but we still have 5 more…but we ONLY have 5 more. It’s like there’s still so much left but at the same time we have to savor every single moment because it’s going to go by so fast and before we know it we’ll be home. It’s a weird concept. After I tried to explain that she said something to the effect of,

‘Well, God doesn’t know time…He only created this 24 hour period we call a day because He knew we, being human, were going to need it. He never intended it to be that way. Also, once you become a believer, you begin living in the time of eternity.’

She’s so right. I was floored and tried to wrap my head around the concept of time but also the idea that in the scope of eternity, time doesn’t exist…it never had a beginning and it will never have an end.

ETERNITY

Kinda freaky if you think about it really hard…

We may think we’re running out of time here on earth, but really, we’re getting closer and closer to the fulfillment of eternity—forever with our maker. So our time left here on earth…well, shouldn’t it be spent with eternity in mind? Because really, we’re living with the anticipation, the hope, of eternity.

So no matter how old you are, no matter how little time you think you have left, consider the time you spend. Is that time spent living for yourself? Or is it spent living for eternity? Is it spent living as if heaven has already crashed into earth and the “far away” eternity we envision has already come?

We are already living in eternity, people! Spend your time as if you are.
