How you expected.

I know that was something I considered a little while ago but this time, I’m not considering it…it’s not happening, but I’m not finishing the race how you would expect.

When I was fundraising (which I’m still doing for my moms trip to India), I sold t-shirts (I have a lot more-lmk if you want one!) and they had all the names of the countries we have gone and will go to on the race…except one. The Lord decided he wanted to change the story up a bit.

Obviously, we’ve already done the 1st 6 countries—can you believe that?!?! (I can’t!) but now going into month 7, with only 5 months left, I think it’s time a share a little secret that I’ve been waiting to share until I felt it was right…I don’t know what I was waiting for, just a confirmation from the Lord, I guess. But, here it is.

I’m not finishing the race…how we all anticipated. This doesn’t, in any way, take away from any support you have given or prayers for specific countries you have prayed. I believe the Father honors those well and will continue to! But in all honesty I think this unexpected change is extra, extra sweet to me.

I know, I know…tell you already.

Ok, originally our route was going to end in Albania. I didn’t really know what to expect of Albania, I honestly had no expectations except that the Lord was going to move…and beautiful beaches. ?? But the Lord had other plans.

We’re not ending in Albania anymore.

Back story—when we were in Bolivia, the Lord put Spain and specifically ministry in Spain on my heart. I didn’t know what that meant, what that would look like or even how I would figure out ministry in a country that I love so much. So I just kept pushing it to the side. I’ve spent a lot of time in Spain. I learned Spanish there, i love that country. But I have a past there, and not all of it is beautiful and perfect. But every day, without fail, the Lord put Spain on my heart. So I prayed about it (not nearly as much as I should have, but I did).

Then, we went into our month 4 debrief in Mendoza, Argentina. The 2nd morning, our mentor, Fran, sat us down and said she had something serious to talk to us about. She proceeded to tell us that she had been working hard the past few months to give us the opportunity to do something unique, something she felt the Lord had in store for us.

The Camino de Santiago.

The walk of Saint James that goes about 600 miles through France and Spain.

She got it cleared and she just needed us to pray and get our ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. But, this would replace Albania. I immediately began shaking uncontrollably, unable to calm my body, heart and mind, all I heard was YES, YES, YES! I wanted to make sure this was the Lord’s voice and not mine, so I took the 30 minutes she gave us and prayed over it. He continued to confirm my ‘Yes’.

30 minutes later, we found out that we were ending our race in Spain. We will be walking a portion of the Camino for 14 days. I don’t know exactly what it will look like but I do know I may be alone, it will be a time to process the past 10 months on the race before going home, and we will come in contact with so many people who are doing this walk simply because they are searching for something more…something ‘spiritual’. What an opportunity to share about my Jesus?!

Isn’t it so cool how the Lord figured out how and when I’d be back in Spain?

Isn’t it cool how he figured out how to get me into ministry in Spain without throwing me to the wolves having no idea? I get to do it with a group of humans I have done the last 10 months with…humans who know me deeply and know my heart.

How sweet is our God?! FREAKK!! SO. AWESOME!

I want you to know that your support has given me this opportunity. I don’t know if I will be in Spain again for ministry in the future but I have a feeling that the Lord is going to show me during that time and I wouldn’t be able to get there if it wasn’t for your support! THANK YOU!

If you missed the opportunity to support me, you have another opportunity now! I am currently only $900 away from having my moms trip to India fully funded! And I need your help!! Thank you for your faithfulness to the Father and for supporting me and this mission that he has put me on and that he allowed my mom to join in for a week!
