Last week, my mom came to visit me (more to come on that!) and I got my 1st opportunity to preach…so I wanted to share what I shared with the people in the village.

I wanted to create a simple visual for knowing someone so I had all the moms (5 of them) on my team stand up front and close their eyes. Each of us daughters walked in front of them and they had to say which was their daughter just by the feel of her hands.

Then I asked,

‘What does knowing someone mean?’

‘What does that look like?’

Our parents know us. They know the funny things, the serious, the weird and sometimes even the deep things that are hard to share. Some even know us by just the feel of our hands, so they know us, right?

We have friends who know us. They see something a little different than maybe our parents see, maybe a little more goofy or careless. Or maybe more secrets are shared.

But, there is one who knows us deeper than any other will.

{{ Psalm 139: 13-14 ‘for you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.’ }}

The Father, the king of kings, Jesus. He doesn’t just know certain sides of us, He knows it all and He loves it all.

You are seen by the Father!

You are special to the Father!

You are heard by the Father!

You are known by the Father!

He will always know you, He will always love you and He will always want intimacy with you.

With being known by the Father come truths that He speaks about you. There are so many and each persons’ differ a little. But sometimes, the lies of the enemy can creep in and make us believe things that aren’t truths but complete lies.

I am not seen.

I am ugly.

I’m not good enough

I’m not funny enough

The father knows that these things are lies and He knows the real truths about you, He’s just waiting for you to step into those truths and the person he uniquely designed you to be!

{{ Jeremiah 1:5 ‘Before I formed you the in womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.’ }}

He knows us so well, he even has specific plans for our lives!

{{ 1 Corinthians 8:3 ‘ But the man who loves God is known by God’ }}

{{ Psalm 139: 1-6 ‘Oh Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.’ }}

{{ John 10:14-15 I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. }}

{{ John 10:27 my sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. }}

{{ Nahum 1:7 the Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him. }}

I shared some lyrics to the song ‘Fully Known’ by Tauren Wells. When I feel I am not known or loved, I listen to this song and it brings to my knees at the feet of Jesus. It has changed my life.

I’m fully known and loved by you. You won’t let go no matter what I do. And it’s not one or the other, it’s hard truth and ridiculous grace to be known, fully known and loved by you. I’m fully known and loved by you!

I want each of you to think of a lie that you are believing that the enemy has been telling you. Something that the Father doesn’t say in His word about you.

Now, speak against those lies with truths that the Father says about us.

You are known and loved by the Father. The perfect Father who will never fail you. He has plans for your life, that are for good and not for evil. Trust that He knows you and loves you.

Step into your identity of being fully known and loved by the King of Kings.
