It’s been about three and a half months since I’ve written a blog. The last blog I wrote was in Jamaica, month three of the race. Since then, I’ve went to India, Nepal, Malaysia, and I’m currently in Thailand. I could give you all the excuses, but I was just letting the thought of being too behind keep me from even trying. However, it’s a disservice not to share everything that God has done, so I must share, and I will! Expect a blog everyday for the next 5 days in a row!!
Now let’s talk about coincidences. I’m going to start by saying, that I don’t believe in coincidences. I give credit to God every time something happens that I once thought must just be a coincidence. The story I’m about to tell is a testament to this, and still blows my mind just thinking about it.
Lets back up to before the World Race started when I was back in Wisconsin. One morning, my family and I were looking for a church to attend in Wisconsin Dells. We drove around the area we thought it was located for a while, and never found it. Then, my family moved to Georgia for some time before I flew to Haiti to start the race. When the weather got warmer, my parents moved back up to Wisconsin for the summer. I prayed for them to find a community and a church home to get connected to. The next time I talked to my parents, they had found the very church my family had been looking for the summer prior! Turns out it’s a tiny church called Bridgepoint, and it’s connected to a coffee shop called Bella Goose.
Fast forward to right now, I’m currently writing this blog in a coffee shop called Bella Goose. You might be confused, because earlier I mentioned that I’m in Thailand. Both are correct. Yes I’m currently at Bella Goose, and yes I’m in Thailand. Turns out, the same coffee shop that my parents stubbled upon in Wisconsin, has another coffee shop located in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Just a coincidence? Exactly one week from today, my parents are coming to Chiang Mai, Thailand for a mission trip that was planned before any of this happened.
At Bella Goose in Wisconsin, my parents became friends with a couple training to work at the Bella Goose in Thailand. That same couple did the World Race with one of my leaders who was with me during the first 5 months of my race. By the time my parents get to Thailand next week, that couple will have just arrived in Thailand. Just a coincidence?
I’ve had the privilege of getting to know the staff that serves long term at the Bella Goose in Thailand. One of the staff members is the son of the paster at the church my parents attend in Wisconsin. His cousin is also a teacher at the high school I attended. Just a coincidence?
Nothing from what I just shared, and nothing in life are coincidences. God has brought people from all over the world, to meet in Chiang Mai, Thailand for a purpose. God has a crazy complex plan for our lives. He’s just waiting for us to open our eyes to give him glory and praise for all that he’s doing.
Please share this story and comment below any “coincidences” that God has ordained in your life! I have $1,740 left to raise to stay on the field, please consider supporting me! Stay tuned for the next blog coming tomorrow about Dreaming Big!
