What is happening?
I think I ask myself that question at least 10 times a day.
I haven’t had a traditional path in life, its lead to a lot of confusion in what I’m looking at for my future. This past year gods challenged me by calling me to a season of abiding in him. Watching all my friends begin to form their futures and head off to college has been rough, I’ve never been a very patient person so learning it’s okay not to be constantly moving was something God put on me.
I heard about World Race by chance, through a friend of a friend. I was curious and looked it up and wow! I had a feeling “this is it” what I’ve been waiting for. I applied immediately after looking into it. The thought of spending 9 months traveling the world spreading the love of Christ and living in community was so endearing to me.
When I heard I got in I was stocked! Then it sunk in… 9 months away from friends and family living out of a backpack. I began to panic. BUT because god is so good, I went to go do me daily devotional and the story I flipped to was Mathew 4:18-22. It was one of those “ok god” moments when he knew what I needed to hear. “Immediately they left the boat and their fathers and followed him”(Matthew 4:22) To be a disciple I don’t need to have everything planned, I don’t need to worry, I need to trust his plan and have faith he will provide.
This year I’m going to be bold and take a leap of faith trusting in Him!! Excited to start this journey, and I appreciate the support from my friends and family.
So I guess I kind of know what’s happening now, but I think God has some big surprises planned for this year (:
