I need more thunderstorms in my life. Each one reminds me so well who God is and what His plan is.
I woke up earlier from a thunderclap so loud it set off car alarms. Sometimes God is so big and mighty that we’re alarmed. He is too much for our feeble human brains to comprehend.
I’m now lying here listening to the quiet, soothing rainfall. Many times we meet God in whispers and silent moments. When the noise of this world falls away we can see our Jesus.
Like lightning He is brilliant and illuminating though He lasts forever.
The most amazing thing about thunderstorms is that they are meant for restoration and growth. They may be scary or almost missed, but each one provides life-giving rain to heal and nourish the world.
How many times have I missed the thunderstorms of God in my life because they were too big or too quiet?
Father, bring your redemptive, life-giving, spiritual rain to this dry, thirsty land. Heal, soothe, and alarm us so we can see You, meet You face-to-face, and be used by You. Amen and amen.
Now the birds are waking up and singing their hearts out to the magnificant God of all creation. I’m joining them in praise.
“And it’s all, because of You, Jesus
It’s all, because of You, Jesus
It’s all, because of Your love
And my soul will live
Oh to be like You
Give all I have just to know You
Jesus, there’s no one besides You
Forever the hope in my heart”
