So on Monday we had a chance to go to a coffee plantation which is now the town's dump.

This coffee plantation used to be a functioning plantation but now is where all the locals dump there trash, deal drugs, get high, homeless live, and where prostitution happens on a daily basis. Many young girls go in and out with old men just so they can help pay the bills for their families. When were in this area, we felt emotional drained. You could feel the destruction it has done in people's lives. Many people are chained to additions in this coffee plantation.

Our goal was to help clean up this coffee plantation. Our contacts told us there is no way we could clean it all up because in a few hours there would be more trash. We wanted to set an example and help the locals take pride in the land they were given. We also prayed over this land. Prayed that the coffee plantation would be a place where the presence of the lord was evident. That chains of addition would be broken and freedom would be found. Our ministry contact has been trying for years to buy this land, but the owner will not give it up.

We spent hours cleaning up trash and praying over this land. This piece of land was smelly and most of the trash we pick up had been peed on. This was humbling for me. I really don't like picking up my own trash let alone trash that is smelly and that had been peed on, but it was important to show the locals this example and that we want this piece of land to glorify the Lord. We will have the chance to go back and clean more of the coffee plantation before we leave. Pray that we set and example and that this land will be where God is present and people can find freedom through the Lord!
