I'm currently in Washington, DC with M-Squad getting prepared to leave for Costa Rica on Friday! My team and three other teams will be working with 6:8 ministries. We will be doing children's ministry, feeding centers, and working with a local church they partner with. My team and I are very excited to see what God does this next month!

Before I came to launch, I had the chance to go with my church on their high school winter retreat as a leader. During this retreat the theme was being plugged in. One of the key verses we talked about was 1 Corinthians 10: 31 "So Whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God".  During the whole retreat, I kept thinking about how I can give God all the glory.

During the retreat we had the chance to go sledding at 10:00 P.M. one night. As I was getting all my gear on to go out in the freezing mid-west weather to sled late at night, I tried to keep a positive attitude. It was late and I really didn't want to get all wet. As we search for the "giant" hill we were going to sled on, I watched all these high schoolers settle for a little hill. They were having so much fun in the wet snow. Their joy was spreading and changing my attitude. We did find the giant hill, and that is where God taught me a lesson.

Once we got to this hill I had to join in on the fun. After I made it down the hill, I could not stop laughing!  I then realized what 1 Corinthians 10:31 truly means. God takes joy in our adventure and excitement. I pictured God smiling down on us enjoying his creation he made. I heard him say "This is one way you can give me the glory"

Sometimes my girly mind likes to make EVERYTHING much more complicated than it is. God wants us to glorify him in all things but it doesn't all have to be some huge spiritual act.  I can glorify God sledding down a hill, playing card games, being goofy with high school girls, and making crazy signs for the drivers we passed by. God finds joy in these simple and silly acts.  I can't wait to bring glory to God this next year during this crazy adventure. Whether it is during ministry, interacting with teammates, or finding joy in his creation!
