It was a Friday morning at 11:00 A.M.

My Senior Social Work class was meeting with Senator Bill Cunningham to talk to him about fair tax in Illinois and after a couple hours of being downtown Beverly we were all pretty exhausted.

I was with 9 of my fellow Social Work colleagues that have become like family to me the past 2.5 years. We were walking back to the bus when I got the call…

“WELCOME TO THE WORLDRACE!!!!!”

The bus erupted in shouting, laughter, and congratulations all around. Life was getting all too real for the nine of us. Those first initial moments were the most exciting. But then come the questions, “Is this for sure what God is calling me too?” “How am I going to be able to raise all of this money?” “How am I going to handle being away from friends and family for 11 months?”

We read in the scriptures verses of promises, of what God has in store for those who love Him. Psalm 37:4 that says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart“. Through a lot of prayer and petition I have come to a few important things that are really going to help shape the next upcoming couple years of my life. Well, let’s be real, these will shape the rest of my life PERIOD. But are SO crucial for me, and hopefully some of you reading this, to soak in these promises TODAY.

1) The more we seek Him and obediently walk in His promises; the more He blesses us and molds us to look more and more like His Son. When we are diligent in seeking Him and allowing Him to transform our hearts and our minds He fills us with Heavenly things. He gives us His eyes to see people and love people the way He does and He our desires begin to line-up with His desires. When God revealed this truth to me, I realized that my heart is overflowing right now with a desire to do His work in the world. I am so excited and eager to further the Kingdom. Every time my heart overflows with this excitement I get to see God working in my life and I get to lift it up to Him in a prayer of thanksgiving! How blessed are we that we get to hear the voice of our Father in Heaven and know when our hearts feel at peace that it is His mighty work at hand?!

2) If God has opened a door in your life, He is going to provide a way for you to get through it. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. Amen?!

3) He never said it was going to be easy. He said it would be plentiful (Luke 10:2), He says He WILL give you the rest you need (Matthew 11:28), He says He will give you peace, fulfillment, comfort, strength, and SO much more. But He never said it was going to be easy. That means sometimes taking steps of faith and leaving the people you love to allow Him to use you as a willing vessel.

These are just a few of the many promises I am resting in as of this current season. The craziest part of this all?! I have SO much happening before I even leave for this trip! This upcoming week marks my last week of classes at Trinity Christian College. Ever. I then am leaving January 28th to do a Study abroad Semester in Quito, Ecuador where I will complete my internship required for the Social Work program. I will come back May 11th to then graduate May 17th with the Senior Trinity Christian Class of ’14. This is ALL happening before the Worldrace! Can you believe it?!

GOD IS SO GOOD.

I’d also like to ask that each of you reading this prayerfully consider supporting me through this new season in life. The least I would like to ask is for you to partner with me in prayer. As you have read there is a lot coming up in my life and I am in need of God’s peace, presence, and affirmation through this all. I am also in need of prayer as I leave the place I have called home for the past 2.5 years, Trinity. I am going to miss this place more than words can even say. These people have changed my life for the better and I would not be where I am today without each of them.

If you feel called to financially support me through this you will find a “Support Me” link on this blog page where you can directly give (thankyou!thankyou!thankyou!) I’d also love to get coffee and chat with some of you sometime! I will be selling T-Shirts and doing fundraiser events, so I’ll keep you all posted about these details.

Thanks for taking the time to read. God Bless.
