I’m
sitting here, wondering if I have malaria. I’ve been achy all day and I’m ready
to go see the doc to determine my fate.

It’s
kinda weird sitting around not doing anything. Holy cow I just realized that I’m
sitting in a room all by myself. What a glorious thing!! I mean I love my two
roommates (Lisa A. and Victoria M.) but you really come to cherish time alone.
It’s pretty amazing after spending 7 months with the same people. I love them
don’t get me wrong.

So,
I’m sitting here, right? After looking through some of my pictures of
Tanzania-cropping, brightening, etc- I thought I’d look at some of my pictures
at home. Most of the time when I look at pictures from home I get a little homesick,
I’ll be honest. But today I realized something for the first time.

I
looked at a picture of my little cousins, two of my best friends, and myself
jumping off a ledge at Mt. Rushmore. And I realized and said to myself, “wow,
those shorts are WHITE! Man and your shoes are super clean, too!

And
then I saw another picture where I was wearing a white v-neck. And again I was
super impressed by it’s white-ness. I’m pretty sure I’ve bought 3 white
t-shirts on the race. The days I’ve worn them, they hardly remain white for
very long.  With being so dirty on
the race stains just don’t look that bad…

Needless
to say, I can’t wait for real washers. More than that, I freakin miss dryers!!
And I might get this weird compulsion to buy and use bleach often when I get
back to the states.

That’s
all I wanted to say. I hope maybe this lightened your day a little. Please, don’t
take for granted your washer and dryer.

Please.

Don’t.

I’ll
probably post a more serious blog next time…
