Greetings from Cambodia! We just got to Phnom Pehn and have
stayed the night at the University of Nations base. Tomorrow, Team Post Office
will embark on our very first ministry site together! We will be traveling to
Kompong Thom to dive into to unknown! We will have the opportunity to teach
English, do evangelism, lead small groups, and do construction work. It’s
really a smorgasbord from what I understand, but we’re all excited to jump in.
Our team has recently discussed really living simply. They
way AIM has called us to, and more importantly, the way Christ does. This month
we will be put in situations where we have no way to live except simply. Our
ministry contact just informed me that the only electricity we have is from a
generator that only works for 2 hours per night. I think it’s safe to assume
we’re going to be pretty secluded from the Western World. I know, though that
I’m pretty excited about it. It’s been something that has been on my heart and
I know that some of my teammates are excited, too. Notice I said “some,” please
be praying for the others who are hesitant and concerned. Our strength and
peace is really coming from the Lord this month and I’m super super excited to
have a lot of distractions out of the way. I think this month’s ministry is
going to be very beneficial for our team and each one of us as individuals! I’m
so very excited to get to know my team in new ways and deeper ways! What better
way than in the third world!? Pray that our team really bonds and meshes this
month, that we can rely on the Joy of the Lord, and that the Lord would use
each one of us in mighty ways despite us! This is exciting! Praise God!
p.s. another prayer request. If God doesn’t see fit for us
to have A/C or fans, please pray for the strength, adaptation, and joy to
endure the heat in this place!!! I’m sitting in a pool of my sweat as I write
this…
