Ever since I got
to Asia, people have been staring. I mean we do look different, so I guess it
makes sense.
Every day we
spend at least an hour in Pastor’s truck. People drive by, stare, and sometimes
wave. I was sitting in the back of Pastor’s truck the other day and the Lord
told me to do something, “Tell these people the truth about who they are.” The next
morning I asked Pastor to translate “you’re beautiful” into Thai on a blank
sheet of printer paper. Originally, I was hoping to get a sign that said, “you’re
needed” for the men as well, but we haven’t figured out how to translate that
yet.
The plan: flash the sign at women that we see/meet and tell them they are beautiful.
So far, I’ve
been astounded at what I’ve seen. I find I wake up every day excited to get
into the truck and tell women they are beautiful. I know the Lord is showing
His love for them through this. I also know that He is showing me His love for
me just by the interactions I’ve had so far and the smiles I’ve seen.
If you want
to see the most genuine, full-of-life smiles in the world, tell a woman she’s
beautiful when she’s least expecting it…
