This is how I got here…

For several years now I have felt the Lord calling me to do something more than just the normal routine of life.  After graduating from Seminary last year I thought I would surely have it all figured out, but God does not go by our man-made timetables.  I went on several short-term mission trips last year and after each one my heart swelled a little more with love for people and joy on the mission field.  It was at that point I realized, there is nothing I want more than to go and share the love of Christ with those who are truly hungry and have never heard the name of Jesus before.  I began talking with other missionaries and praying for God to help me be patient as God continued to lay the groundwork in my life.  This past November everything came together and I finally took a leap of faith.  After 2 years of following missionaries’ blogs on the Adventures in Missions website, I suddenly became overwhelmed with the reality that it really could be me on the mission field.   The World Race, an extension of Adventures in Missions, is an 11 month journey through 11 different countries that seeks to offer hope to the nations through the love of Jesus Christ.  I applied on a whim that day and within two weeks I was extended an invitation to join The World Race July Route 3 Missions Squad.  This is more than just a yearlong trip; The World Race is a lifestyle.  It is a call to abandon oneself and live in community with the “least of these” throughout the world.  Each country will have its own specific needs as we team up with local churches and ministries.  The mission’s activities will be a wide range of ministry such as helping the widows and the orphans, church planting, feeding the hungry, preaching the Gospel, and rescuing and protecting women and children from human trafficking.  The work may look different in every country, but the mission will remain the same: To advance the Kingdom of God while bringing glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
You can be a part of this mission too!  On July 1st, 2012 I will venture out of America along with many 8-10 others that will make up this July team.  We will desperately need your prayers going with us and leading us from back in the States!  Please consider being a prayer warrior for me and my team over the next year as we travel to Ireland, Ukraine, Russia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, India, Nepal, Cambodia, Asia, and Malaysia.  To further invest in this mission and see your resources spread all over the nations, please consider financially supporting me as a missionary.  I need to raise $15,500 to cover all of my travel expenses and cost of living while I am over seas.  There are two ways you can give financially:

         1) Mail a personal check or money order made out to Adventures in Missions, P.O. Box 534470 Atlanta,
GA 30353-4470 and include the attached response card to receive a receipt for your tax-deductible gift.
         2) Give online by visiting my blog, www.meganparham.theworldrace.org/ and clicking “Support Me” on
the left side of the blog and follow the instructions.  You can give a one-time gift or pledge a monthly or
quarterly amount to be automatically drafted from your card.

Every little bit will help reach this goal before I leave!  Even if you cannot invest financially please pray and ask that God would provide our every need and guide us the whole way.  My hopes for this adventure are to live out the Great Commission in its entirety, to glorify the Lord with my life, grow deeper spiritually, live and love like Jesus, and reach the lost to advance the Kingdom of God.  I feel blessed to have so many friends and family who love and support me.  You will be able to follow me through this online blog while I am gone.  I will keep it updated as often as possible with the ministry we are administering in each country.  I am confident that this is exactly where God wants me to be and God’s timing is perfect!  I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store and I am excited to take a part of each one of you with me on this journey!

 Gratefully and Sincerely,
