Day 2 of the World Race and already I have learned a very valuable lesson:

God has an agenda for the next 11 months!!!
And the way I want things to go has very little to do with it!!!

As soon as our team, "Cologne of Christ", landed in Ireland our agenda went out the window. As all the other teams departed and started heading to their ministry sites we sat in the airport waiting….and waiting….and waiting some more. Unable to get in touch with our ministry contact we were already at a disadvantage in a new country, a big city, and very little direction. Gathering our things, we decided to head to our lodging at a nearby hostel downtown. As we headed towards the door we decided to give the hostel a friendly call to let them know we were coming only to find out there was just no room at the inn!! We called nearly every hostel and hotel in Dublin and everything was booked! What should we do?! Work really hard to make our plans work out no matter what?? Sit at the airport and just wait for someone else to figure it out for us?? Or get ready for an adventure and let God work out the details??

Along came Camac Valley Campground…

Not quite what we were expecting but EXACTLY what was on God's agenda!! We found a taxi van to take us to this campground about 20 minutes outside of Dublin. Our cab driver, Johnnie, was so kind about giving us the history of Ireland and commenting on sites that we passed along the way. He was intrigued about our journey with the World Race and after arriving at our destination we asked if we could pray over him. After the prayer Johnnie stood up tall and with a big smile he said, "I just felt something!!!" He continued on about how powerful our prayers were and the presence he felt while we prayed. Now would that encounter have happened if we had followed our own agenda?? Hmm…who knows… But we were certainly blessed by Johnnie.

When we came in the door at Camac we were greeted by a very friendly lady named Tracey. She was so excited we were here. She had heard of World Racers before from past racers staying at this campground. She went above and beyond trying to accommodate us. We set up our tents and realized just how beautiful this place was! We were beyond excited to be here and to have a place to stay while we waited to hear from our ministry contact. Or the next day and a half Tracey continued to shower us with love and kindness. We spent most of the day around the campground helping out where we could while it rained all day long. A gracious couple gave us a ride tothe grocery store so we could get some food for the day. Finally, we got word that we could start our ministry at the Dublin Christian Mission on Monday. So before Tracey left work tonight we gave her a thank you card and the wle team prayed over her. As we were closing she began to pray over us. WHAT A BLESSING to meet others all over the world that are thrilled about people sharing the hope and LOVE of Jesus Christ. She commended us for what God has called us to, but I'm convinced that it is not just about what God has called US to. It is about what God is already doing in this world today. EVERYWHERE WE LOOK!! If we LISTEN and get on GOD'S AGENDA we will continuously be BLOWN AWAY at the people and things that God brings across our path!! Praise be to God that He is not confined to OUR AGENDA!!! Oh, the blessings that come with letting go!!!  Thank you JESUS for messing up OUR plans!!! Yours are SO MUCH BETTER!!!
