Devotion to the Calling
It happened during a 21 day Daniel Fast as I was fasting with some girls from my small group at church. I knew God had a special message for me @ Ladies Night with Christine Caine from Hillsong United as a speaker before I even went, so that was the day I began the 21 day fast as God prepared my heart. God sure had a great message for me that night as Christine spoke words of Wisdom, Love, Empowerment and Truth from God. The Holy Spirit invaded my life and there was no turning back! I entered a 21 Day fast to search for God's purposes, plans, and to grow closer to Him. This was a time of repentance, crying out, and a period where I had began to learn to solely trust on God alone.
I was praying for insight into God's will and knew for a while that God was calling me to MISSIONS WORK and OVERSEAS for a while ( I just didn't know the details). The missions trip calling goes a long way back to the day I was saved and gave over my heart to Jesus at age 13 at Christian Camp. I knew God had a different and special purpose for me I just really never understood it completely. I knew that I was on fire for Jesus and wanted to lead as many people as possible to Him! At age 13 I spoke to my 7th grade classmates about Jesus and the work he had done in my heart and life with my best friend Sarah who had also given her life to Christ at the time. It was so exciting to bring others to Jesus and to bring the promising message of salvation to them!

Anyhow, after having sponsored a compassions child in Nicaragua last summer named Katya through Compassion International, I felt God calling me to REALLY go and be Jesus' hands and feet…Little by little I would hear His voice and I wasn't quite sure what God wanted me to do. I felt God telling me that I could do so much more then just pray, give a monthly donation or write a support letter. I could be there in the action and teach other's about Jesus and his promises of eternal life and HIS everlasting, unconditional LOVE.
It was day 19 of my fast and I had been researching missions trips but didn't pursue any in particular because I did not hear God's voice calling me to a particular one. I waited patiently for God's voice and that night I heard it loud and clear. I found the World Race site through my church's website, and to be honest, I wasn't even sure why I was searching through community posts. God knew though! I opened to the website and found the link to the World Race page and started watching video after video and reading blogs. It was while watching a video chills came over me and I knew it was the Holy Spirit calling my name. It was an overwhelming feeling that came over me and my heart jumped and I knew that this was what God wanted me to do! Tears of joy proceeded as God had answered my call with a glimpse of His will.
The life of abandonment was calling my name. I want to be Jesus' hands and feetand to LOVE and SERVE for the Kingdom of God!
