This Race isn't Over.

Ok so yes the "World Race" is over, but the past 2 months I have moved more than I did on the race some months. I have lived in 6 houses, been in 8 out of the 50 states (some because I traveled south to go to Project Searchlight down in Georgia),  I have had a big realization the past month or so; the "race" isn't over. The race I have in Christ Jesus is not completed until God says its completed. Just because my mission the Lord called me to the past year around the world is over doesn't mean there aren't more. It's so easy when you come to back to slip away from things you have learned while out of the Christian community you were so used to living in. Accountability & community are such good things.I have gotten pretty busy these past couple of weeks! Speaking of accountability a long prayed prayer for a mentor has been answered by the Lord! My mentor's name is Maggie & she is from Flint; she has a great heart for the Father & has so much godly wisdom. Please feel free to check out her blog(she wrote an article about me & 3 other racers! She also blogs frequently… @ http://post.live58.org/maggie-jaruzel/fierce-fives-fame-eludes-the-faithful-four/fb_action_ids=816364083255&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=aggregation&fb_aggregation_id=246965925417366

For 3 weeks now I have lived in Detroit. I know this is where the Lord has called me in this next stage in my life. He has a race for me here that is going to be a long one! If you haven't read my other blogs, God had laid Urban youth & Detroit on my heart since the start of the World Race in Kenya & it has continued ever since. Well the day before I left for Detroit as I was driving to church I got a phone call. It was a response to a job posting I had replied to for a Youth Pastor position! I submitted it a week or two after being home…I am not sure I would have even come if it weren't for K squad leaders (Denise & Michael) reaching out to me saying they would love to host me in their home & feed me for a week while I was looking for work.

One week later I had my interview & was hired to be a Youth Pastor for Rivers of Living Water Ministries in Taylor, Mi! http://www.riversoflivingwater.com/ (check out the webpage) The church is a holy spirit led, pentecostal church which is great! I really love it and feel right at home. Taylor is about 15 min south of the city so this area is pretty urban yet it has country feel to it. The locals joke & call it "Taylortucky"; supposedly many people moved here who used to live in Kentucky which is great because I fit right in with the southern vibe being that I lived in the south for 3 years before going on the World race. Anyways, I stepped out in faith & followed the Lord's voice & He really is faithful. I really did hear him correctly for the next step.

When I first got home, admittedly I thought I'd be home in Erie much longer. However, the Lord had other plans & I surrendered to His will. The safest place to be is in the center of God's will & that's right where I want to be. Where the Lord is placing me & calling me. I am really excited to pursue this passion to work with Youth in Detroit! I even had the opportunity last week to go to a 3 day regional Youth For Christ conference! So in between working I am hoping to do some volunteering on the side with Youth For Christ & team up with them for youth events with my youth from Taylor!

When i was praying about accepting the job the Lord gave me peace through this verse:

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." –
Hebrews 12:1-3

Please continue to support me through prayer as I continue on this race. Also I am starting from scratch with youth materials/books so if the Lord lays it on your heart to donate materials or make a financial contribution for my youth you can mail it to :
