The Angels Are Dancing in Uganda
So our team arrived at our ministry site location in Busia, Uganda on Tuesday night. We are very blessed to be staying in a house here. We were greated warmly by our Pastor Rosemary and our Mama Sarah with hugs, kisses, and handshakes.
So far I love Uganda; there is a lot of joy here! The children greet us on the street in a song: ” Mzungu, mzungu, mzungu” (Mah-zoon-goo). There have huge smiles on their faces and and they love to say “Mzungu, How are you?” and they repeat this over and over until you look at them and answer. It is so cute. The children and some adults ,out of respect, bow down on their knees before shaking your hand…
There is a warm joy here in which children and adults laugh often. When we arrived at our site location we were given our first meal which was mashed plantain, and ground-nut sauce which was very interesting… kind of tastes like peanut butter. We are going to eat a lot of this sauce because the grandmother who owns this house sells ground nut at the market.
Today was our first day out for door to door ministry. There is a lot of diversity here in languages and religion. There is a ismlamic mosque only about a block away which makes loud prayer announcements over a loud speaker about 3 times a day. This happens to wake me up at about 6 in the morning as well. The Lord has already begun to stir my heart for the muslim population here.
While engaging in door to door ministry, out of 4 woman, 2 woman accepted Christ for the first time today, 1 rededicated thier life, and another we got to pray for for truth. This particular woman had a shrine inside of her house so we could not go in. I am learning a lot about the spiritual world we live in.
Today the Lord really showed up and his Holy Spirit showered these woman with the warm loving embrace of Jesus. It really touched me that so many people we were already ministering to were being saved. The Spirit of God was heavy and tears of joy welled up and came out while praying with these woman. I can’t wait for all that the God has in store for our team while we are here in Uganda.
Pastor Rosemary is such a bundle of love and she was telling each woman that was saved that the angels in heaven were rejoicing and dancing that they were saved! Isn’t that the truth…Today and everytime there is someone saved the angels are throwing a party. Excited that angels danced as we entered Busia and this month is going to be good!
