Playground Visions

While here in Kachibora, at Deliverance Church Ministries, we encountered many children. At the ministry site here, there is a school. During recess the children all came out to a large tree and had ropes hanging from it. They used this tree as a place to swing. No swingset necessary; they were completely content.

Then one day we were told that there was someone who claimed half of the land here, and that they would be taking it back if a payment didn’t happen. Our team gathered together and prayed but the result was decided that the land was going to be given back to the owner. Within one day the tree was taken down and a fence dividing the land was put up. A basketball hoop was also torn down.

God stirred my heart for these kids who lost the one thing that they could play with. The Lord gave me visions of being able to build these children a playground and I was able to share this vision with the Pastor here. Although we didn’ t have much money, we could make things with what we had. I envisioned it. We found some peices of wood and created a balance beam for the children. I was also able to get a few beach balls, and a basketball which the kids loved. It was great seeing them so happy over something so little. Children in America take all of these things for granted. The children here make anything they find into a toy.

The ideas I shared with the pastor turned into the church community coming together to build a basketball hoop, and new swing for the children here. I know this is only the start of the Lord’s vision here…These children deserve a playground just as much as children back in America. They are all created by the Lord.
