Ministry Updates For Moldova

6.4.12

So this Month we have been very busy so far! This month is almost like a trip back to Africa in many ways. We never seem to know what’s coming next. Also our shower is just a small container of water above my head and because it’s cold I have only been in there once( I am a BIG baby when it comes to cold water)…so I have been sticking mostly to baby wipes!

When it comes to church services there is a service either at a house or at the church almost every day and night. The services also are very long! Sometimes it is rather difficult sitting through a service that you don’t understand much of anything. However, we are blessed to have a translator so we are able to catch bits and pieces which has been a tremendous blessing!

(Children’s Day- June 1st, 2012: We had a special day devoted to the local children of the village)

On June 1st we had CHILDREN’s Day with the Kids that we have been playing with daily during the week. I have been joining the boys playing “football”(soccer) while we play with the kids. On Children’s Day we had a special day to honor the Children + bless them with games, a bible story, and I face painted them (on their hands mostly!) It was enjoyable and although kids are not really my favorite ministry I know we are being Jesus to them and the time we spend with them is impacting their lives just in this short time that we are able to be in the village we are working with outside of Calarassi, Moldova.

(me , Dana a sweet, sweet girl that just loves me and ANY attention she can get, and then Elena our contacts daughter)

So many of these people we visited just put their heads down…they were very emotional from the time we showed up. I think the Lord used us in many ways on Saturday. We sang them a few songs…”Our God” was one of them..their faces lit up with smiles as we sang.

We also had the opportunity this weekend to visit a nursing home…so many of the elderly woman and men’s eyes welded up with tears as we went around and prayed for them. I am not sure they receive many visitors if any at all. They were taken back that we had come from America to visit them. One woman I prayed with…her name was Alexandria. She said that she knew Jesus and I could tell by her warm smile and words (although spoken in Romanian at first) that she was a believer. Sometimes communicating doesn’t need words…but just love. She had lost her husband and before she told me I felt like God already told me this was true. There was also another woman I prayed with who just cried and cried as I held her in my arms. Some of the other Ladies on my team and I prayed God’s peace over time. I learned how to say the peace of Christ be with you; “Pache de La Isus” …

Here is a flower that our contacts wife made…she is very crafty… I hope to learn a thing or two from her before I leave…

So far this month is going well…Every day the biggest challenge I face is trying not to think about the fact that I will be coming home in 3 and 1/2 weeks…as home get’s closer it gets harder to keep my focus on the field. Please pray for continued endurance and focus. Thanks for all your support and all that you do! (= Blessings…your support is making a difference in many lives in Moldova…a nation that is not even recognized by many.
