Is This A Dream? Shake me… but don’t wake me.

First Night @ NODA tonight in “Uptown” Charlotte tonight which is a Historic Arts District here selling Threads of Hope Bracelets. WOW. Amazing night. I am in awe. Blown away. I feel so alive; like I am finally embracing the purposes that God has called for my life and it’s the best feeling ever. 

I almost didn’t go because I thought I had to rent a booth which was wrong. I asked the organizer Andy, if I could stand outside of an Arts theatre tonight and there were many artists within the theatre exhibiting work/selling jewelry/crafts/artwork. Andy was a sweet, cool guy who was like, ” Yeah of course you can stand on the street. It’s the street”, which made me laugh…This is going to be a weekly/every other week thing for me. Never realized I could be a part of a “gallery crawl” and that Threads of Hope Bracelets would not only provide hope to those families in the Philip

pines who need hope & stability, but also to bystanders, vendors, and

 artists, among many others…

I got to meet lots of creative artists, and inspiring people tonight. I will never forget this night. One artist in particular, Renato, was a photographer who is orginally from the 

Philippines! H

e told me about the name of the village he lived in and described how it is in a Kilometer Post.  

This is the 2nd person I have met this WEEK who has been to one of the countries I will be visiting on the WR.  Coincidence? I think not. Planned chance orchestrated encounter from God, and through the Holy Spirit. I think most certainly, yes. 

Earlier in the week at Charlotte One I met a girl named Mikala who has traveled to Uganda (Another Country I will be traveling to). We are planning on having coffee sometime soon. She helps with an organization called cherish Uganda and thier website is www.cherishuganda.org. The organization is dedicated to rescuing orphaned and abandoned children who are overlooked because they live with HIV/AIDS…

 We tried to get into 24/7 which is a prayer house here in Charlotte. No such luck because it was unexpectedly closed; or shall I say that God had alternate plans for us. We visited a nearby coffee shop with Direct Trade Certified Coffee which was pretttttttyyyy good! 



I think everyone is searching for some kind of hope. Something that they can hang on to that won’t ever let go of them. So many people are hungry for God and just waiting for answers. It seems like so many people are afraid to talk about their faith or religion, or lack of faith and religion, for fear of being rejected, persecuted or misunderstood. However, something, being the Spirit of God, is aching to desparately share the hope that is found through Jesus

Does it have to be proclaimed from a mountain top, or can it be portrayed on the face of a girl, wearing a sign, selling Threads of Hope bracelets? Could a quiet, gentle spirit with a peaceful smile be enough to capture hearts outside a theatre in NODA? 

” But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” – Galations 5:22
