Break The Generational Curses: It Ends With Me.

So Last night at our team time, I was lead by the Lord to talk about generation curses, and how because of our families sins in the past we can open doors for the enemy to have more of a ground. For example, if there is a history of addiction or alcoholism in your family, you could be more prone to that same history of sin. This is why I often believe divorce tends to have a pattern in families and family lines. Other sins include; low self worth, depression, lust, unfaithfulness, ect.. & the list goes on. Even medical things can be curses such as a family history of cancer or heart disease. God says we have the availability of the Kingdom now, here on Earth. So many Americans are in denial of spiritual activity and want to just label it something else because demons or curses are “scary” and not real. That is a BIG, fat LIE! 

The amazing news is that GOD gives us the power to overcome these sins, offenses, and the bitterness that comes along with them. The truth is the sins of our parents does inflict pain into our lives & if we let it have any control it can; that’s where we have a choice. The curse, the history of these sins stops now.

There are 6 Steps to Freedom From Generational Curses:(of course in the Kingdom God enables us to be free of things in many ways so I don’t know if this is the ONLY way to free yourself…I’d say ask God to show you how to be free & pray for that freedom…Anyhow, here they are! 

1. The Full Surrender.

 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

2. Confess the sins of your sinning parent to God & name them. Ask God to forgive them.

“But if they confess their iniquity and THE INIQUITY OF THEIR FATHERS, with their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me … then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham I will remember …” (Leviticus 26:40, 42)

3. Be willing to fully forgive the family member(grand-parent, or parent) for their sins. 

“AND WHENEVER YOU STAND PRAYING, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that you Father in heaven may also forgive your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” (Mark 11:25)

4. Break any ungodly soul ties with the parent. 

5. Break the curse line. 

6. Verbally command these spiritual curses or strongholds to leave your life. 

I encourage you to pray. Ask the Father to reveal to you if there is any sin in your family line and for him to reveal it to you. Write those things down. Call out the names of those people or sins, pray for freedom, and complete healing in Jesus name. Rebuke the enemy’s plan to steal, kill, & destroy. Don’t let sins of the past come into the future of your family. 

“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19

I am so thankful that the Lord revealed these things to me while I was in Thailand…I came across a YWAM team & they were just casually talking to me about generation curses and how they can affect us. (Thanks Jessie & Tatum 🙂 I love u girls! ) Anyhow, at the time it took me a while to process and understand/assess if this was true. I was baptized and freed from sin last April so I didn’t think I needed to do something like this…but I was wrong!

There is always MORE Freedom in Christ. 

Just when you think you are free,the enemy will try to sneak into an area and speak lies. You can silence and break those lies off!

Last night I did this; I prayed for people, let go of some bitterness that I didn’t even realize was there, and broke any strongholds. I have felt so much freedom & I know you will too!
