"Love and God will fight your battles"
This simple phrase is on a card with my name on it, on the fourth floor of a building that over looks the city of Manila. Our 24 hr prayer room: The perfect vantige point to watch amazing sunsets and to see the city disappear on rainy days. A place many of us are going to meet with Jesus and pray for what God has laid on our hearts.
God has been trying to teach me about forgiveness and freedom lately. How unforgiveness only hurts you, how the enemy only operates in darkness and how forgiveness comes before freedom. God is peeling back layers. Heart change is happening. New vulnerability, new perspectives, new passions. I choose to love, I choose to let go of justifications for past attitudes, of hurt feelings, or sorry excuses for my hurtful actions. God will fight my battles, I choose to let Him. He is much better equipped.
Our two Squad Leaders were taken to the airport this morning on their way home to the unknown. Pray for their transition, safe travels, and for our new squad leaders that were raised up to take their place.
Many things have happened this month. The hungry are being feed in 9 different neighborhoods as groups of us go out every morning and afternoon. Street children, prostitutes, and destitute families are being shown God's love, are falling asleep in our arms, and experienced a night of family fun, movie, and dinner (video can be found here http://vimeo.com/32630889 or on my facebook page). Ground breaking for a future birthing clinic is being carried out. A screening/educational/bible study is occurring every week for 30 pregnant ladies in our community. Rescued young boys and girls are being taught, cared for, feed, and loved. God is doing amazing things in the Philippines.
