Oh Kenya…..
It’s been an interesting month.
Local transportation kinda scares me. The Mutatu driver(public transportation van that rips off white people) today told me it’s called the “Nairobi Race” as he weaves in and out of traffic. It’s not uncommon to make a 2 lane high way 5 lane traffic jam. You get used to it.
So glad to have hot showers this month!
Nairobi is a very polluted city, but it’s socially acceptable to pick my black buggers any whereJ
I’ve heard it said that the Kenyan church is “a mile wide and an inch deep.” The country is 80% Christian, but only in thought. People will introduce themselves as "my name is _____ I'm a Christian but I'm not born again." Interesting concept that they claim the belief but have no commitment to it….
My heart cries.
Mango’s and Pineapples can be purchased for roughly 25 cents! (floss parties usually follow in random offices and street corners).
I don’t see myself as a bold direct person but apparently that’s what’s coming out this week. A man called Baraza called me a fighter the other day (which means I’m about to learn how to choose my battles).
Passion runs in my veins and it usually comes out with tears in my eyes. “Those who plant in tears will harvest in shouts of joy. They weep as they go plant their seed, but they sing when they return with the harvest” Ps 126:5-6).
I have this whisper within me to Rise up the church. To unite the body of Christ. Father, I don’t even know what that means, what that looks like, or if the whisper is just directed @ me to connect, wake up, and stop bickering about your church.
Living in Nairobi is hard on a budget, generally if the restaurant has a building it’s too experience for us.

THERE ARE MONKEY'S!
Random disconnected thoughts, but this blog might not even load so I'm not going to worry about it. Heading to Busia for a week to work at an orphanage and then on to month 2 in Uganda.
Later Nairobi. It's been good.
