Okay God, now what?
Wouldn't it be nice to have a POOF well Megan this is it…..
I wouldn't be able to say "How was I supposed to know I was supposed to do that…" "God you never said to do this…." "I didn't know…."
Like Elijiah I have a tendency to look for God in the wind, the earthquake, the fire…..but then He comes with a gentle whisper (1 kings 19). With all the noise, it's easy to miss. It's easy to mistake it for something else. It's easy to want the wind, the earthquake, the fire, the ah ha God moments. It's easy to just sit back and get caught up in the noise and completely forget it's the whisper that needs your attention. But that's me.
Elijiah knew though. He waited for it and when he heard the whisper, he went out to it. And I love what God says to him vs13 “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
God told him whats up.
I've had some time in the silence. In the waiting. During solitude. The times when all you want is the wind…because the question: "what are you doing here?" really isn't what I asked for.
In the silence, the waiting, the solitude…..my desires came align with His. I had to answer that question. My answer was I'm here to extend Your fame Father. To let others know about this hope of eternal life with you. I am here for Your purposes. Christ's sweet sweet love has compelled me to GO.
I was content watching fire.
Stacking up wood so the silence wouldn't have to come.
Silence came anyways.
He spoke.
Guess what? I'm going.
The desire to go is from Him and His scriptures speak loud enough that I will never be able to say "I didn't know"
Matthew 9: 37-38 "Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
You've asked……He's heard…..I'm going!
He's cool like that:)
