Yup I got married!

I married 15 lovely people! HAHA!

The team Agap8

my team NEON
and of course Gretchen!

I suppose you could call it community living but marriage almost seems more appropriate haha, thanks Gretch! And like marriage, so I’m told, it ain’t easy and ain’t always fun! Now please don’t get me wrong. I love my spouses Love them, but when you’ve been living with 2 people at the most for the past 5 or so years and then by yourself the past 3 months or so, living with 15 other people is quite the switch! And not only that but we 16 are in a 3 bedroom ONE bathroom (that smells so bad one of my spouses threw up in her undies while on the potty trying to go tinkle, I love you Becky-Schmecky) bright (or NEON if you will) lime green house, in hot muggy Puerto Barrios, Guatemala with no AC and a 16 gallon water tank, and that’s water to clean cook n shower with! HAHA!

It actually isn’t as bad as it sounds, surprisingly. The tricky part is more the marital decisions. Who’s going shopping, what’s for dinner and who’s making it, and if I eat one more p.b. n j I’m gonna barf, who’s on clean up duty, who left the dirty pan on the stove, where’s the laundry detergent (which turned out the be fabric softener, my clothes may not be “clean” but they smell good!) and who hid the napkins, do we have any clean rags, we’re out of drinking water, and now were out of water totally, hey are you done in the bathroom yet and so much more.

It’s not like having 16 roommates and you all can do your own thing, nope, it’s a mirage it’s community! So you all can do every bodies thing together! Eat together, clean together, sleep together, get up n work out together, sit around n waite together, leave together, drive together, work together, (together is kinda a funny word if you say it enough haha) cook together, talk together, walk together, be hot together, change tires together, be sick together, play together, and the last and most important pray together, if it wasn’t for that we wouldn’t function together.

The reason we are all here is so much bigger than any one of us individually, and that’s why we are here living in community. I suppose I had no idea what I signed up for when I signed up for this World race crazyness, but God put me here for a reason! So, I am willing to do what it takes and so far that’s dying more and more to myself each day. I’m learning how to be more a part of a continent rather than my own island.

We are a part of the body of Christ and we are here to make that body grow. To bring love to women who look for it in the arms of one man after another. To play with and love on children who don’t have parents to hug them and love them. To do construction on houses and buildings that are falling apart. To let those we talk to know that they are so very loved by the creator of the universe and that He is yearning to have a relationship with them!

That’s what it’s all about! That is why we are here living in community. This is why I am dying to myself more and more each day. This is why I don’t lose my mind when we run out of toilet paper, and though I don’t always like every one 100% of the time, I still love them, and am 100% willing to talk it out . I am so thankful for every brother and sister, spouse hehe, that I am living with; each one brings something different to the table. I look forward to the things we will do together for Gods kingdom, and the growth within ourselves and amongst each other.

So no mom and dad I didn’t really get married married, but I did get married! Don’t worry I think you’d approve of each and every one of them! Haha!

Romans 15:2, 5-6

2Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, 6so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the Gos and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
