“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ…If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.” {1 Corinthians 12:12 & 26}
God has been blowing me away with this fact. I am GRATEFUL to be a part of the FAMILY of God- for so many reasons.
My Pawpaw had open heart surgery last Friday. My Pawpaw is a preacher and has been for years. He is currently the pastor at Lancewood Baptist Church in East Texas. Three things that have greatly stood out to me these past few days are this:
1) “Pray without ceasing.” {1 Thessalonians 5:17}
2) Prayer is POWERFUL.
3) Fellow Christians- even ones that I have not met before- are dear FAMILY.

Amazing, right? The immediate family and I prayed with him before surgery, then we came out to the waiting room, circled up with all those there for him, and prayed for him, and so many people have been praying for him individually. We sent out messages, did facebook and instagram posts, and asked people to be praying- my friends and FAMILY all over the United States. I even texted my World Race Squad in our group message and they were praying- these sweet teammates that I have not even met yet. PRAYER. It is so powerful. And praise God, these prayers were answered. My Pawpaw is going home from the hospital TODAY! 🙂 Praise the Lamb! God has had His healing hand upon him and has carried him through this. He still needs prayer, of course, for continual healing and recovery, but he is doing well! He is doing well because of the Father and because of the prayers. PRAYER is powerful.
So I’ve been learning tons about prayer and then this community thing. The body of believers- the body of believers in my Sunday School room, in my church, in my town, in the United States, all over the WORLD- this body of believers- people that I know and love dearly and even people that I have never met- they are family and we are joint together by the love of the Savior.
What a mind-blowing and incredible thing. FAMILY. Here’s another ant picture. 🙂 God just seems to have a way of speaking to me through ants lately- haha! 🙂
I want you to notice- these ants are in a pool- they are all clumped together. There were other ants in the pool, not clumped together, and they were struggling really hard to make it or they were dead. But these ants…these ants were struggling together to make it. COMMUNITY. FAMILY. This is us, family.
Father God has shown me the incredible wonder of this through sweet, dear prayers from all over for my amazing grandfather and he has shown it to me through fundraising.
Right now, I am a little over 51.26% funded for the whole World Race. INCREDIBLE. God is so faithful and He is Provider. He has faithfully used His children to fund this mission as He has.
I am completely blown away at how He has done this and is doing this. THANK YOU, FAMILY. Thank you for supporting me as I have stepped out of the boat, stepped out in obedience. Thank you for your financial gifts, your encouragement, your support, and your prayers. What a beautiful and simply amazing blessing that God gives us each other- just as these ants- to clump together- when one desperately needs prayer or when funds need to be raised to go and share the gospel where we have been led- praise the Lord we have each other. I am GRATEFUL to be a part of this FAMILY.
