God is seeking you right now. Even you who do not believe in him, that
doesn’t stop him from pursuing you. As
Samante, a girl I met tonight, put it, “God knows the hairs on my head, He knew
me when I was in my mother’s womb and He loved me then. He loves us all equally whether we know He’s
there or not He knows us and He loves us.”
That is a paraphrase but the idea of what she was saying. Tonight at dinner she was sharing her
testimony and how she came to know Christ, what a powerful testimony of love. Samante went to school with Tim, one of our
squad mates, in Bemidji Minnesota. When
she left for the states she did not know God or Jesus as her personal Lord and
Savior and yet it was only through Him that she was able to come to the states
to study. At the time it was not
financially possible for her to come to the states yet the opportunity opened
up and God brought his daughter to the exact place he wanted her to be where he
could show her she was loved and pursued.
She shared with us that it was the little things people did for her even
though they knew she was not a believer.
They still invited her to church and other events and would offer her
rides and other little things just showing her love. But it wasn’t until she had an encounter with
God did she begin to understand his word.
Samante was telling us that because of all those little things she was
able to understand the love of God. The
two characteristics she kept talking about were Love and Hope. Our God and our faith is the only one that
offers HOPE. She shared how at the time
she accepted Christ she was in a really dark place missing home and other
things going on. She called up one of
the girls that had been taking her to a bible study because she needed to talk. That evening as she was talking the other
girl asked to share a scripture with her and as she was reading it God reached
down and touched her and she knew she needed to say yes when her friend asked
her if she wanted to accept Jesus. Since
then she has seen the hope and love that is found in Christ and that Christ IS
hope.
I have been so blessed this month and I have heard so many
powerful stories and testimonies of how God loves us. Tonight I was just expecting to get to spend
some time fellowshipping with some new friends and my new family before heading
to Australia in the morning. God had a
much different plan. He had one more
thing he wanted me to learn before I left Malaysia. While she was talking I knew God was telling
me that this year it’s those little things that I do for people that he is
going to use to show people his love.
That those little seeds that I plant in people’s lives he will grow and
even if I don’t see the fruit it still matters because without the seed being
planted he can never grow the plant. I
know I have heard this a million times and have always believed it to a point
but tonight I saw that in action and hearing how much those small little acts
of service and kindness made such a huge impact in Samante’s life. The second thing I learned tonight is how
passionately He pursues us, even when we are so set against Him. She shared how angry she was with God and
that she didn’t believe in Him yet He loved her enough to pursue her. He knew her even when she didn’t know Him and
while she was praying to other gods for the opportunity to come to the states
so she could study it was God that provided the way. He took her to Bemidji Minnesota so that He
could bring her back to Him and show her His love and grace that He wants every
one of his children to know. The knowledge
of God’s pursuit didn’t end there. One
of my team mates was sharing how God has been pursuing her family and
especially one member who is in their 60’s.
I feel like there are some people that right now need to know GOD LOVES
YOU!!!!! No matter what season of life
you are in God is pursuing you. Even if
you aren’t pursuing Him and are doing everything that you can to run away from
Him He is still drawing your back to Him and wanting you to know you are loved
you are His BELOVED. He doesn’t stop
pursuing us and will place us in the place we need to be and will place the
people that will show us His love and mercy.
I pray for God to move mightily in the life of all those that read this
and that you are blessed knowing that God is pursuing you at this very moment
and wants to give you his best for you.
Not because of anything you have done or because you deserve it, but
because he loves you immensely and passionately and he wants only the best for
all of us. Rest in peace knowing that
you are Loved by the one who IS love.
