One day, early in the morning, right when the sun was coming up. There was a young boy, and he was walking along the beach. He came across an area where there were hundreds and hundreds of starfish washed up on the shore. The boy began to throw them back into the sea one by one. As he was doing this, a man came to him and said; “Why are you doing this? There is no point! You will never be able to save all of these starfish!” Then the boy picked up another starfish and threw it into the sea, looked at the man and said; “I saved that one.” Then proceeded to throw them in one by one into the sea.

This story REALLY spoke to my heart, and put into perspective what the Lord is asking me to do this year. I am not set out to “save” every single person I come into contact with. The Lord asked me to go into the nations and show people His love through my heart and actions. I may not even “save” one single person this whole year, but I will be able to plant the seed–and maybe I am building a foundation for someone else to come behind me to finish the work started in their life. I thank God that he doesn’t ask us to go out and save everyone we see—He’s already done this by dying on the cross. What He asks of us is to go out and tell people about Him, and show them His unconditional love.

I pray that this story speaks to your heart just as much as it did mine.

-go in peace my brothers and sisters-
